The Singapore Manufacturing Federation would like to urge you to explore the opportunities in Indonesia by joining our outgoing Singapore Business Mission to Bandung & Jakarta in Indonesia from Wednesday, 15 March to Friday, 17 March 2017.

Why Participate?

The objectives of the mission include:

  1. To meet relevant government officials in the provinces of Bandung & Jakarta to understand the Indonesian market and regulations (ie BKPM, KADIN & other agencies).
  2. To enable companies in Singapore to tap on the business opportunities in Indonesian market for their expansion.
  3. To have business matching with business people in Indonesia based on the participants’ specific areas of interest for discussion on partnerships, markets and other business interes

Overview of Bandung & Jakarta, Indonesia

As the world’s fourth most populous country with 255 million people, including the fastest growing middle class with 3-5 million more Indonesians becoming affluent each year. Indonesia is ASEAN’s powerhouse economy. Economic growth was 5.04% in Q4 2015; it is the only permanent ASEAN member of the G20 and well positioned to influence global and regional incentives

President Jokowi identified several economic priorities as he envisions Indonesia to regain its economic growth prsopects and targets for the country to enjoy a GDP growth of 7% by 2018. The improvement and development of infrastructure will be instrumental in achieving this target

The cities covered for this mission will be Bandung & Jakarta. Bandung is the capital of West Java province in Indonesia and Indonesia’s third largest city by population, with over 2.4 million and Greater Bandung made up of 2 municipalities and 38 districts, making it the nation’s 2nd largest metropolitan area with 6,965,655 inhabitants at the 2010 census. The Bandung economy is mainly built upon tourism, manufacturing, textiles/apparel, educational institutions, technology, retail, services, plantations/agriculture, financial services, pharmaceutical companies and food production

Jakarta, is the capital and largest city of Indonesia, and one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world with a population of 10,075,310 as of 2014. Jakarta generates about one-sixth of Indonesian GDP and its economy depends highly on service sectors, trading & manufacturing among others

This business mission will also allow Singapore companies to identify Singapore projects which companies can tap on to work together as a group in both Bandung & Jakarta.
